Customer Access Billing Specification

The customer
Client is a pioneer in IP Telephony and online transactional banking which offers a complete line of communications services and products, including local service, long distance, Internet access, web hosting and telephone equipment. The focus is to offer efficient and effective communication and customer services to both business and residential customers throughout Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio.

The challenge
Client was spending huge amount of money and effort in processing the paper format bills.

Client wanted a system
.: Identify different kinds of paper bills in EDI format coming from various locations and process them.
.: Convert all the information from ASCII text format to human readable language and store the same in RDBMS.
.: Generate intelligent reports that can provide proper business analysis.

The Solution
SAAHI provided an automated solution of processing all the paper bills after thorough analysis of the existing business. The tool had the capability to convert all the paper bills into electronic format following CABS Input/Output Billing Specifications.

Once CABS bills were converted successfully SAAHI suggested the client and automated all paper processing’s in Cinergy.

SAAHI also put together a reporting tool to enable the client for generating reports to enable the management in doing business analysis and quickly take decisions.

1 CABS tool is capable of being run in the background, which offers the processing of a huge number of CABS files without major hindrance to the front-end processes.
2 Cinergy is now capable of converting thousands of pages containing CABS files in a very short period of time.
3 This has resulted in resolution of possible issues with Bellsouth and Verizon involving the exchange of bills. This has also resulted in an easier and more efficient way of analyzing data.
4 Significant cost benefits accrued through usage of onsite/offshore delivery model.
